Finally gave up and did a full reset and rebuild of my laptop. Pain in the arse but the Bluetooth headset works beautifully now.

First thing I did on reinstall was to ditch all of the hp software on my device - not sure if that was what made the difference but if their software developers are anything like their customer service on this forum then I wouldn't be surprised if the bugs were there.

Probably the last time I buy a hp product if this is their idea of post-sales support.

Hi Prabhu,

To my knowledge your system is not equipped with Bluetooth device. But it is equipped with ITE Infrared Transceiver. Here is the link to the driver:

Hey Vidya!

Thanks for all your help. I've been looking everywhere for the right driver to my build, but I could not find it. Hopefully you can help. I'm trying to install a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset.

Unfortunately, I receive an error each and every time. It connects to the computer, but has a yellow triangle next to the word "Troubleshoot". Running the "wizard" only results in the recommendation to download the drivers, which always fail to work properly. I cannot run Windows Update, as this is a corporate laptop and my company restricts and controls all updates through that channel.

@ Salazar4

Here are the links to the inbuilt bluetooth drivers drivers for Windows 7:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp47001-47500/sp47022.exe

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45578.exe

Either of these links should work.

Coming to Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset, I see that many users are unable to use Bluetooth dongle that came with the Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset but use the inbuilt bluetooth which will allow you to use Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset. If you are being prompted for a driver, that does come from your Operating System.  Plantronics doesn't provide drivers for their Bluetooth headsets.

Its great to see you helping out people. If you could please also help me in finding the bluetooth driver for my laptop. I have searched a great deal but could not find it. My laptop was originally shipped with Windows Vista, but when I upgraded to Win 7, my bluetooth wasn't working properly. It just provides me the very basic functions and when I try to pair with other devices, it does not supports them. Please help me out. The details of my laptop are;

HP Pavilion dv6-1205ee

Hardware IDs:
