Hello Dr. Zahoor, let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand from your post that you have a new HP Notebook - 14-am020tu and you can hear crackling noise from the laptop's hard drive. I suggest you to observe and let me know if this noise appears mostly when the laptop is trying to read the hard drive.
Meanwhile, let us run a hardware test on the hard drive by following the below steps:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Click on Component tests. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
- Select hard drive. There are six hard drive tests, and they can take from 10 minutes to 2 hours or more to complete.
To run the hard drive tests, follow the steps in Hard Drive Tests.
Feel free to let me know the results. I'll guide you further. Good luck! 🙂

I did everything you advised hard drive tests but the crackling noise is not resolving at all . The noise keeps on distracting me especially in calm atmosphere. I think probably the laptop has a manufacturing defect. Kindly advice what else can l do

I understand that you are irritated by the crackling of the hard drive...now there are laptops with ccd drive, you can purchase a SSD drive and through service to install a hard drive.or buy a new laptop with ccd drive.
generally better in service of HP you would need to consult...
