I changed my power supply on my pavillion to a Corsair cx600 it does seem to have an equivalent to the p5 connector on the hp power supply. Seems like it now won't power up the disc tray.
Any way to get around this? Thanks in advance

Hello, @lfk – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for your continued participation on the HP Forums! I’d like to help!
I understand that you tried changing the internal power supply and is having trouble now. First off, HP always recommends using the HP supplied part.
The part that you are looking for is 794974-001 (Power Supply - Ortega, 180W, ATX, E-star6 PSU, 230Vac).
Also, upon checking the product specifications, it could be possible that the product is still under warranty. Hence, if you are facing any sort of issues with the power, then please contact HP phone support to get a possible free assistance / replacement
HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true
(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

Hello, @lfk
First off, we do not support upgrades for PSU.
As you are trying to upgrade the PSU, my suggestion is to contact the manufacturer of the PSU to make sure that this is compatible with the PC.
I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
Cheers 🙂
