HP Notebook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After countless hours trying and trying every thing I could come by on the internet for a fix, I have came up with nothing.

I have uninstalled drivers, restarted computer, hard reset, fully updated computer, updated all drivers / bios, tried messing with boot options, cleaned aux port, checked blutooth and headphones and I still have 0 audio.

I tried pressing "F2" on start up and testing the audio and that audio WORKED. I heared the beeps and the test passed. I try the test when I am on the desktop and I get "Test Failed" on the pop up.

Audio details: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_280B&SUBSYS_80860101&REV_1000         HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_280B&SUBSYS_80860101

I also have a yellow caution sign on one of the 2 "HD AUDIO DEVICE". One of these can update when I choose to do it manually, but the other says it fails (code 10).

The audio stopped after a windows update a couple months ago and I have been off and on trying to figure out why it stopped.

If anyone has any advice please comment and help me out. Thank you in advance

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92941.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

I just did this step by step.

Still no audio sadly. Device Manager says " Problem starting device (CODE 10)"

This process changed what used to be called "Reltek" to "HD Audio Device" there are now 2 of these on the Sounds drop down.

One of them has a caution sign and one of them says it is working properly.  Still no audio though.

Thank you for replying quickly.
