Hi:

What is the full model number of your notebook?

What operating system are you running.

There are hundreds of drivers that have been written for those descriptions.

My notebook is the HP Pavilion dv9000 and the operating system is Windows Vista...

Hi:

There are lots of dv9000 models too.

Please enter the product number in the applicable box at the link below.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

Then let me know what specific dv9000 model you have.

Also, please click on the PCI device and post the hardware ID for it.

I think it is the modem, but I want to be sure.

If you do not know how to find the hardware ID for a device, please read the guide at the link below.

Hi:

They are all for the card reader, even though they report different descriptions.

If the above driver doesn't work, then I suspect the motherboard in your notebook is bad.

You can see this two page thread below where I tried to help someone with the same issue and notebook.

The issue was not resolved, nor can it ever be.

Thanks for your help,

I tried back and forward with the issue and it still have the problem, reading the link you included about people with the same issue I realized that is a motherboard problem. It looks like I have to buy a new computer...this one is from 2008.

Thank you very much for your help!!!!
