Dear HP-forum,

I've recently installed a new wonderfull SSD in my Pavillion dv6-laptop.
Since i had to reinstall windows i also needed the drivers for the 2 video cards.

First i installed the "Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000" driver for the integrated graphics card(plus the intel rapid strorage technology driver), and the laptop booted very, very smooth.

Then i downloaded(and installed) the driver for the dedicated "ATI AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series" card.
And there seems to be a bit of trouble when i boot my windows now, during the later stages of the boot the screen freezes and the computer takes about 20-40 seconds to "unfreeze" and to load the desktop.

i tried removing the driver and reinstalling --> no luck.

Also some other things indicate the drivers are in some "conflict":
-The windows experience index is showing the same scores for gaminggraphics and windowsgraphics.(indicating the same driver/card is used, while before the upgrade the one was higher than the other)

What did i do wrong?

the graphics card is the following one:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_1656103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_1656103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&CC_0300

the embedded one :
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_1656103C&REV_09
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_1656103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&CC_0300

It would be nice to get the laptop working.
Greetngs,
Roland

I don't believe that is the right driver.

I just explored the files in the folder, and I do not see any drivers for the AMD graphics adapter in there.

I would uninstall all graphics drivers again, reboot and install this one...

File name: sp55092.exe

Hi, Roland:

Uninstall any graphics drivers you have installed and reboot.

Your notebook has switchable graphics, so the only driver you should install for the graphics is the AMD graphics driver, which installs the drivers for both the AMD and Intel graphics.

When you install the Intel graphics standalone driver, that fouls up the whole works.

Hmm i tried to delete all drivers --> that worked ( im on VGA standard graphics now;both cards)

I then reinstalled the ATI driver, but it sais the following: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
-- Rebooting after the message didn't help

-- Deinstalling and trowing away all folders of AMD and then reinstalling the AMD driver didnt help.

Hmm, its tough because i dont know what might be the problem..
