I have a HP pavilion dv 9000 with vista home premium.
I recently opened my computer and noticed that the wireless internet wasnt working at all. the orange light that was supposed to turn blue never did.
I went into device manager and to try and enable the wireless internet and it doesnt even recognize that i have wireless internet. There was no driver under Network Adapters that i could go into to enable wireless.
I was told that if the computer doesnt recognize it that i should go to the hp website and from the support and drivers page download the driver to install this on my computer. I this several times and nothing was recognized.
Can someone help with this problem. I need it to be fixed asap.

I'm repairing a friend's DV9010US because it has the same problem. Fore mere laziness & cuz I have 2 get on the phone w/ HP soon, here r the links I've been able 2 find. I've also called around different computer repair shops, Fry's, online stores, & verified that it seems 2 b an issue w/ the AMD Motherboard.
Either way, it's being treated as sum kind of recall, so if u bought ur laptop from a friend &/or ur warranty has expired, apparently HP will still send u an empty box so u can ship them the laptop 4 motherboard repairs. I'll b doin this soon if they let me....Good luck

I read endless number of problems on this... It's a well known HP problem unfortunately I do not see any well known solution. Is the usb wifi the best solution??? HELP... If so, WHICH ONE??? I don't want to buy one and run into compatibility problem. Mine is a dv9000 Window Vista. Turned orange. No hope. Please tell me which USB wifi to use. HP Support. Any body? Help.
