Hi. My son split coke into the keyboard of his Pavilion X36013-A000 convertable laptop. I have bought a replacment keyboard but cannot find a way to get the old one out.
I have successfully removed the cover containing the keyboard and touch pad, however the metal cover on the back of this, holding the keyboard, is not attached with screws. Instead it is held in place by plastic pegs with have been melted and squashed down.
How do I go about removing the metal plate to get to the keyboard - do I have to cut off or drill out all of the melted plastic pegs? And if I do have to do this, how do I keep the metal cover in place again once I've replaced the keyboard?
I assume it is possible to replace the keyboard on this model laptop, given that I can buy a replacement keyboard!
Many thanks, Niall.
