I currently have a 32-bit HP Elitebook 8440p Notebook, running Windows 7. I was wondering if I could upgrade to 64-bit, so I can actually use more RAM than just 2.98 GB. Please say I can, I would be so happy. I'm not 100% sure if this is the laptop I have, but I think it might be, not sure though. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c02030597&prodSeriesId=409587...
My product number is : SK119UC#ABA if that's of any use.

Hi:

You can run a 64 bit OS in any Elitebook 8440p notebook with the hardware any configuration comes with.

If you live in the USA, call HP at this number - 1-800-334-5144, and ask for the W7 64 bit recovery disks and it will only cost you $10 if your notebook is no longer in warranty.

You will need to have the serial number handy.

Techinical, you can't perform an upgrade from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS. You can however, do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on the computer. Windows 7 64-bit drivers can be found on the HP EliteBook 8440p Notebook - driver and software downloads page.
