ProBook 4440s
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Reinstalled Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on ProBook 4440s. HP Connection Manage keeps saying that the Wifi is disabled. Tried going into Device Manager to see device ID, but unsuccessful in installing any driver I found (used another PC connected to WiFi, then transferred driver to flash drive). I have looked this up on 5 different forums (including this one), but none of the instructions given on any forum work with the ProBook 4440s. Any help would be awesome!

Unfortunately, none that I know of.

If it belongs to an institution, I recommend you bring it to their IT department to fix.

Hi:

Make sure the wireless card is enabled in the BIOS.

You may want to try setting the BIOS to its defaults.

If there is no network controller device listed under an Other Devices category in the device manager, then the card is bad, or the motherboard is bad (if the card is enabled in the BIOS).

If the wireless card is not present at all in the BIOS, then the card is bad or the motherboard is bad.

I tried to go into BIOS settings, but because it belongs to an institution, I do not have the proper permissions to edit the BIOS settings. Is there any other way?
