ProBook 450 G2 K9L18EA
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Dear Sirs,

I have recently purchased ProBook 450 G2 (model K9L18EA) and now I want to upgrade the standard 4GB to 12GB (using  additional 8GB RAM chip).

Would you be so kind to answer if the following memory module will be compatible with my notebook:

8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 CT102464BF160B

 Brand: Crucial
  • Form Factor: SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB
  • Specs: DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •

Or maybe you could give me URL with list or pdf-file with compatible memory modules for my notebook.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Terminator, thanks a lot for your useful answer.

The scanner ( http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner ) have given me the advice to use the following module

8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 CT6118583

 Brand: Crucial
  • Form Factor: SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB
  • Warranty: Limited Lifetime
  • Specs: DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •
  • Series: Crucial

Unfortunately, this memory module isn't sold in my country - Ukraine.

I have found only the memory module mentioned above in my previos post - 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 CT102464BF160B.

I see, that the specifications of both modules are similar, but I have doubts  whether BIOS will "understand" non-recommended module CT102464BF160B.

Because Crucial  said: "The scanner simply looks in your BIOS for information and then searches the Crucial.com Web site for compatible matches".

And another question whether these modules would compatible with preinstalled module 4GB Micron 8KTF51264HZ-1G6N1 with the following specifications:

Configuration 512 Meg x 64,

Memory Clock/Data Rate 1.25ns/1600 MT/s,

Clock Cycles (CL-tRCD-tRP) 11-11-11

Would you be so kind to give your view on my questions.

Thanks once more.

Hi,

I understand but if not certified to the exact model, you can file incompatibility and you'd be wasting your money, it is a risk.

Thanks ever so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I've bought the memory module

8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 CT102464BF160B

and I'm really pleased to say that this module fits my notebook ProBook 450 G2 (K9L18EA).

The system passed all the tests of the Memory Diagnostics Tool (built in Windows 7) both in standard and extended modes.

Furthermore, all Sandra tests have also passed OK.

Have a good weekend!
