Also don't upgrade the cpu in the laptop. 

There is a big chance that the bios won't support it and then you've bought a nice cpu but the laptop can't work with it.

If i was you i would go for the I5 version becouse it's the perfect combination between power saving and performance.

I have ProBook 450 G0, i5-3230M, 8GB RAM, ATI 8750M 2GB, Win7 PRO

I play like you Rome 2, BF3, AC Black Flag. Games can only see HD4000.

I update all drivers and I've done everything what was written here (Polish language):

Pleace notce that i'm not working with switchable graphics so i can't test my information.

Also please tell me if i'm going the wrong direction.

And sorry if i'm asking things somebody else already asked to you but please give me information so i can try to solve your problem.

and finally please notice that i'm not a HP employee so i do not have acces to all their databases. (Some but not all)

I do have a few questions for you.

1#  Do you have the original HP drivers installed? otherwise it won't work!

2#  According to your document you should assign games to the switchable graphics.

3#  Is there an option to acces a specific videocard in the BIOS? "Enable Fixed Mode Switchable Graphics in the BIOS"

4#  Is your BIOS up to date?

5# Is your laptop set to high performance mode

Here You have the answers:

1# Yes, original and updated,

2# Yes, I can choose a graphics card for every different application. If I understood well I have a dynamic type switching.

3# Yes, is an option. When I enable this, card ATI completely disappears from the system.

4# Yes,

5# Yes, when the cable is connected  and when work only on battery.

welcome to the new year!

I was checking 2 games. Rome2 and AC4 Black Flag.

Was maksimum 30 fps:/

When directx(11) gives me info about the system there is nothing about ati card.

But the system shows hd4000 and ati  8600/8700.

All drivers are up to date.

Questions/sugestions?

Do you play those games on low?  if not then the ati card is working. please look at those results.

I can't test it becouse i don't have the right hardware.

I've read that  sometimes you can't see the ati card but it is definately working.

But please tell me your experience so i can give you a proper answer. As i said already i'm not familiar with switchable graphics.
