Greetings @ckaiser10,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are facing an issue with using the touchpad and keyboard on your computer. Happy to help.
May I know the model of the computer you are using?
What is the operating system installed on your computer?
For better performance from your computer, I recommend you to make sure all the Windows updates are installed and run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated.
For assistance in using keyboard shortcuts, please refer to this HP Article.
For assistance in using the touchpad, refer HP Notebook PCs - Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10)
For creating keyboard shortcuts, refer to the manual of the program you are facing an issue with. For creating keyboard shortcuts in Word, click here.
Hope this helped. For any further assistance, please provide the requested information.

Hey Chimney,
I'm on a Spectre x360 running Windows 10. After some previous issues with the trackpad that warranted HP Support, I have diligently kept up-to-date with HP Support Assistant downloads (that issue, right-clicks from two-finger tapping registering as left-clicks, still occurs, but I closed that ticket anyway).
EDIT** the original post was in reply to an ongoing thread about the issue, unsure why the mod made this a freestanding problem
