HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A device on device manager (Other Devices) called Detection Verification is listed but not installed and cannot be updated.  Even unstalling it and rebooting it.  It is called:  {DD8E82AE-334B-49A2-AEAE-AEB0FD5C40DD}\DetectionVerification

Any help there on this?

I'm on Windows 10 64 bit

@Terpi

I believe installing the latest audio driver usually takes care of this.

What is the full product number of your laptop?

If you open the HP Support Assistant, the number is located in there.

It is product number Y9C26UA#BL

I did download one driver for sound but it didn't change anything.  All other drivers are up to date.  I have a touchscreen laptop and since the latest Windows 10 update it won't work.  I have Microsoft working on it, but they say I'll have to wait till the next update - and then they make no promises.

do you have an update on this? I am having the same problem.

No update yet.  I'm still trying and trying to get some response from HP but it seems there support team is off for the summer because they aren't answering my inquiries.  I won't let up though, and will keep up to date posts here.

how to daowload

Seems this is not neccessarily a HP problem. Reports of the same problem on Dell laptops here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/8p1613/detection_verification_in_device_manager_xps_9570/

RealTek audio driver seems to have been the solution for most people.

I downloaded this driver from the HP Support site: Realtek USB Audio Driver for HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 (sp87614)

Ran the installer and rebooted but nothing has changed. Detection Verification is still being flagged.

I have reported it to HP and am waiting for information back.
