Hey,

My fan is constantly making a lot of noise. But the laptop is not getting hot, so I think the problem is the fan itself. Should I replace the fan (where could I buy such a thing?), or is there a software thing where I could set the fan to minimal speed?

Thanks

Freekh

Hi, Freekh

I have a same problem - strong noise of the ProBook 6560b fan. At first I found at forums that it is necessary to update BIOS. I established the last F.50 - didn't help. Then I found in the Control Panel to set the mode of the minimum energy consumption. And it didn't help. Then there were councils to clean from dust the fan - it was clear, like from store. And at BIOS settings I found the "Turn on the Fan Constantly when the Laptop Works from a Power Supply" installation in settings. When I disable this point and rebooted the laptop - noise was gone! It was the victory over noise! Now it works very silently, almost constantly the fan is switched off and turns on few time only.

So, the first - update BIOS, the second - switch off it BIOS settings point the for fan is switched constantly
