The following weblink will help you to understand the LED blink codes, isolate the issue and troubleshoot:
HP Notebook PCs - Blank Screen LED Error Codes |
Details the types of LED blink codes that may occur in the case of a hardware failure on an HP computer, and what each code means. |

The processor is almost never the problem....it is 98% of the time the motherboard regardless of the blink codes. A system restore will not fix any hardware issues whether it is the CPU or the motherboard. Can you get into the BIOS by tapping F10 as you power up?

The motherboard can be replaced. HP will do it for a fee outside warranty. Figure maybe $300-400. You can buy a replacement board for $100-150 and DIY, or have a local shop do it if you have one nearby. The board can even usually be repaired and there are eBay vendors who specialize in reworking HP motherboards. If you can remove the board and ship them just the board, the cost can be as low as $60-100. Post back if interested in any more information. I don't have any affiliation with any of these places, by the way, just providing information. I can help you find the part number, etc. if you wish.
