Ralink (Mediatek) Bluetooth PCIe Adapter for Windows 8.1 driver missing

I had the same problem on my HP g6 2304 su.

Disabled virtualization from BIOS, Ralink RT3290 show  in Device Manager, Haedware ID USB\VID_148F&PID_3298&REV_0000, when tried to install system crash and show Blue screen of death.

So.. I uninstall KB2887595 from Windows Update menu.

After restart install SP64949.

Everything now is OK.

Seem that this is temporally solution. The problem is in MS KB2887595 update.

But Bluetooth is working normal. Hope to help you.

I have Windows 8.1 but Unfortunately when I find update KB2887595, it won't let me uninstall it.

Whenever I try to install my Windows 8 bluetooth driver I get the blue screen of death. There's no Windows 8.1 RaLink Bluetooth driver that I've been able to find yet 😞

This is for HP G6-2284CA. I believe that's the model.

HP Pavilion g6-2284ca is a different model from the one I own (HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j003sg Notebook PC), so I don't have any practical experience with your model.

I'm using sp64949.exe (description on sp64949.html). Did you already try this driver? If this doesn't work you might want to start a new discussion thread and get some help from a HP contributor.

I guess I'll start my own thread. 

When I tried to install the driver, it still made my computer blue screen. 

The description of the driver said it works for g6 series laptops though.

I've been able to install the updated driver (Mediatek Bluetooth Software Driver 2013-12-21, Version 11.0.748.2 file sp64949.exe) on my HP ENVY m6 Sleekbook (m6-k088ca), and it seems to work fine.

FWIW, I was sure I had previously installed it, but I keep getting notices to update my BT driver. Only time will tell as to whether the notices continue or whether this has stopped them.
