Dear Sir
I have an Hp Laptop with model name dv6-2135ev ,Serial [Personal Information Removed],Product WH722EA#B1A.Recently i bought 8GB DDR3L-1600 CL9 204 Hyper Kingston SoDIMM(2X4GB) 1.35V but laptop supports 1.5v .I thought it was ok to have less volt rather more volt than 1.5 but when i installed those ram a message appeared at windows boot "Your pc ran into a problem....".So i installed my previous ram and everything was ok.
I want to ask if i made a bad market so i have to buy now a 1.5 volt ram or if there is any way such as upgrating bios to handle this situation due to there isnt any ram options at my bios.
Thanks for your time

You made a bad move. It is not so much the voltage although that is a problem it is the speed of the memory. I am pretty sure your laptop uses DDR3-1066 also known as PC3-8500. And seriously, where did you see that it is OK to have less volts? There is no BIOS upgrade or anything else the issue is purely hardware.

Hi,
For voltage alone, it should be ok to use 1.35V RAM on BOTH slots. I this case, I think the RAM sticks themselves are not compatible with your machine. Please check old RAM sticks and only buy same specs, can be at lower voltage.
Regards.
