Hi,

i have upgraded my CPU from T5870 to P8600 and the Laptop is sleeping like a baby. I'm wondering can upgrade to P9700 TDP 28W but 2.8Ghz? Just to note that P9700 is NOT in the supported processors.

Can anyone confurm that  i can upgrade to P9700 my HP6830s laptop?

Thanks in advance, Andreja

Hi!

All I can say is that on my HP 6730s I succesfully installed CPU T9600 2.8GHz. I could have gone for the T9800 but because of the steeper price and the little performance difference I decided to stay with the T9600. No need to say that the performance boost from my previous CPU at 1.8Ghz has been huge.

My CPU was also not included in the supported CPU list, but this is quite common.

However you are talking about a P9700 which is a different CPU and you should check accurately the differences.

Hope this helps.

DGN
