RecoveryMgr.exe - "The instruction at 0x8000d030 referenced memory at 0x0012ac60. The memory could not be read.

Hi everyone!

I was in the process of Reinstalling Windows 7 Home premium on my HP Pavilion dv7-2280eo when I was prompted with this message.

I had previously wiped my entire hard drive by mistake, trying to dualboot Chrome OS and Windows 7.

So naturally, I tried to run Recovery from BIOS, but to no avail.

I then completely removed Chrome OS by formatting the hard drive (quick format) from a Fedora live USB I had laying around.

So now I am trying to reinstall Windows 7 through my HP recovery discs, but this error message doesn't seem to want to let me pass. Is there anything I can do?

I fixed it!

Alright. I figured I might as well make a step for step guide for people who in the future might encounter the same problem as I had.

1. Download the Bootable MiniTool Partition Wizard .ISO file. ( Download page here, choose the one at the very bottom of the page. ) (Kudos @ CherylG for the download link.)

2. Create a bootable CD with the .ISO file using any CD/DVD burning software you have. (Or if you have none, you can download imgburn for free here ) (Again, kudos @ CherylG for download link.)

3. Make sure that your boot order is correct.
Even though it should boot up automatically, seeing that you currently don't have any operating system for BIOS to boot up in, you might, as in my case, have to move your CD/DVD drive to the top of your booting priorities within BIOS.

 4. Make sure you have an ethernet (CAT5) cable plugged in. For some reason the MiniTool Partition Wizard won't boot without having a wired internet connection.

5. Boot the MiniTool Partiton Wizard up.
In my case, I removed any partitions left, so that I knew I wasn't wasting any space on keeping any files from my failed Chromium experiment. Essentially you'd want to have a completely unallocated* HDD, if that wasn't what you started with. Now create a new FAT32** partition, covering the whole HDD, so that you now just have one big FAT32 partition. Now go ahead and format that partition, again, using FAT32 settings. Now go to General > Exit

*Unallocated space shows up as grey in the MiniTool Partition Wizard
**Apparently NTFS doesn't work with the recovery discs. It has to be FAT32.

6. Now boot up your PC using your HP Recovery Discs (Disc 1), and hit recover windows to factory settings, and accept the following agreements and warnings.

7. Feed your computer your HP Recovery discs until it's done installing.

8. Enjoy your freshly recovered computer.

Hope this helps someone in the future! And if you really wiped your entire Hard Disk Drive by accident, (like me~~)

Scroll down on the page and get>> Bootable CD  ISO. If you don't have burning software that can burn ISO get>> ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd-a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is> Here. Once created, boot from it. Delete any hdd partitions, create one and format. Next try booting from Recovery again.

Doesn't seem to want to boot.
I tried two different programs (Power2go and ImgBurn)
Stand by, I'm going to try a different computer and different types of DVDs.
