Pavilion 15-p225nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, a family member had someone reset a laptop and they did it using a USB instead of the HP image.  i see the Recovery Partition is still there and when i boot to it the partition boots and and loads the utility but i dont have the option to restore to the factory image.  i am hoping to reinstall the HP Recovery Manager in Windows and have that reinstall the factory image.  can this be done?

I think this model shipped with Windows 8.1? If so and it was upgraded to Windows 10 later, the Recovery Partition was very likely corrupted as often happens. Only way to fix it is using HP Recovery Media to boot from. If they did not make their Recovery Media before upgrading to Windows 10 you can order them from HP. Not sure of price since I usually make mine, but around $40 I believe.

If that is the case then i am just going to set it up as it is.  There is no point to order disks just so that i can put it back on the factory Windows Image.

I tend to agree. Unless there is some software they are missing and need I would not start over with restoring to factory. It would be offered the Windows 10 upgrade again since it was previously activated but a lot of steps to go through.
