Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

A start up menu annoyingly started appearing upon boot after I changed the BIOS so that I could boot my laptop with the external hard drive turned on without causing a BSOD. I fixed the hard drive boot issue (don't remember what settings I changed)- however, now I get the "startup menu" screen upon boot ( with the following prompt: F1 System Info, F2 System Diagnostics, F7 HP Sparekey Recovery, F9 Boot device options, F10 BIOS setup, ENTER continue startup)

It's a minor annoyance but I'd like to remove it, but can't figure out how, can someone please help me?

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Laptop start up menu annoyingly started appearing upon boot.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • You can disable these with either the Startup apps/tasks tool in Settings or the Task Manager.
  • When Task Manager comes up, click the Startup tab, and look through the list of programs and apps that are enabled to run during startup. Then to stop them from running, either highlight the app and click the Disable button or right-click on one and select Disable from the menu.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
