I'm planning to do some changes on my Pavilion e-070sl, like adding extra RAMs and an ssd. But i see a ,, Replace with HP spare'' sticker on the RAMAXEL( Elpida) stick, also on the hdd. Knowing that Bios is locked ( only Probook series have an unlocked bios) does that mean i can do replacements only with Hp recommended parts?
Also can i buy ram with another latency, other than the 11 seen on the existent ram, like 9? Who would gave me the guarantee that 16 GBs would work fine ( Crucial scanner shows me that). I see that i need DDR3L, crucial does not have that ''L'' letter, but it does saying 1.35 V.
Any thoughts? Thx in advance.

The "whitelist" never applied to anything other then wifi cards and may now be a thing of the past for recent production models. In any event, you have nothing to fear as far as memory. You can use anything compatible.1.35 volts is low voltage whether it has the "L" or not. You are very safe buying from crucial. If you buy it from the page for your model, crucial will guarantee it is compatible. I would not worry about the latency, just get what crucial recommends. Here is the Manual:
See page 53 and note the instruction that you should update the BIOS before adding memory.
