Hello

We have just started to put our own image on the Revolve 810 G2 laptop and after installing the hp hotkey drivers have noticed that some of the hotkeys are not working.

The keys that are not working are:

fn + F1

fn + F2

fn + F8

fn + F9

fn + F10

Is there other hp software/drivers that should be installed to make these work?

Thanks

Restart the System Push F10 for the BIOS

Go to

Advenced Menu / Device Coniguration / activate FN Key Switch

Reboot

Hi Toffy

Thanks for the reply.  I tried your suggestion but it still doesn't solve the issue.

Thanks

Update the Bios and restart the system.

After restart Shut down and perform a Hard Reset

Hi Toffy

Thanks again for the suggestion.  I tried that and it still didn't work.  I am currently trying the order that I install the drivers to see if that helps.

Thanks

Hi NZnewbie,

Have you found out what was the cause?

I have a similar issue here...was using Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit on the Revolve G2.

using the hotkey version 6.0.7.1 (sp64817.exe) from the hp website...

- functions key F1,F2,F8,F9,F10 no response

- able to toggle auto rotate in tablet mode

tried using hotkey version 5.0.24.1 (sp65563.exe) for G1

- all functions key working as normal

- auto rotate not functioning

can't figure out what is wrong. already have the Dot Net Framework 4.5 as indicated.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance :smileyvery-happy:

Hi boon_hou

Sorry I haven't found a solution yet?  Have been trying various things but with no success.

Thanks

Hi, I am on Elite Book 840.  I lost F9 and F10 (brightness) after the recent hot key update.  I replaced it with a previous version (SP65563) and the keys started working again.

Note that these brightness keys work in the early boot stage always, but Microsoft Windows disables them (?!) as it loads.

I reinstalled the offered hot key driver update (which is at version 5.0.27.1 now) and the brightness keys work now.

To answer my own question, Microsoft WIndows disables the brightness keys so that the driver can intercept them and display the fancy feedback sliders.  Still, this disabling should be handled by the driver itself, shouldn’t it?

I installed the latest versions with HP softpaq which installs hotkey version 6.0.12.1 A1

Only hotkey Fn F5-F7 work nothing else Fn F5-F7 also work without the hotkey driver installed.

Even more strange: I have disabled the adaptive brightness in Control Panel > Power Options. The adaptive brightness won't stop my screen constantly changes brightness which results in constant screen flicker.

Very funny to have a premium notebook without essential hotkeys, constant changing screen brightness and a allways on microphone.
