Just to add to wireless problems some people have: MEDIATEK adapters? I got mine replaced by 3 euro used adapter from older model right away.

Try my solution when you got balls, most of you are new to this stuff maybe thats the reason you guys arent trying it.Im leaving this thread goodluck with fixing (literally goodluck).Hopefully it will be solved for you guys and your laptops will remain safe.

Most may be new to this stuf...maybe. I don't think I am and I am pretty sure most of the users I have interacted with on this thread aren't either. At any rate, no hard feelings.  We just happen to disagree. It happens from time to time 🙂

Just read this and it should have been said BEFORE anyone upgraded...

1. Once W10 is installed the old W8 recovery partition will no longer work without some serious fiddling.

This straight from an HP online support tech.  What in the blazes!!

dunno why iso by media creation tool is of 3.11 gb for x64  while the one I downloaded was 3.72 GB. Looks suspicious

Without taking the thread off course, has anyone got any other advice for my wifi driver? It's Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter, but it's already updated to the latest version (according to the device manager) and I've tried uninstalling and doing a restart. Still no luck. I've tried changing the wifi channels which hasn't helped at all, it seems as though I'm on the best channel I can be on judging by my results, and I've tried two different routers and done tests with different devices. It's definitely a fault on my own laptop.

If your device is still under warranty, file a claim.

If not, order this $9 USB adaptor and disable the built-in Wifi adapter.

HP hasn't publicly acknowledged it, but there are some major Wifi issues on some of their laptop models.

Lol i wont lie whenever my computer doesnt wake from sleep, I'll just unplug it and let the battery run out and leave it be till it dies. I am sick of this **bleep**in' sh1t just like you guys. Now my laptop does this issue every time I leave it away for no matter what. I am curious on what a clean install actually does? Is it like resetting back to factory because I am thinking about just removing everything off my laptop for some extra room ( since i really dont know where to go to delete files that are taking a huge chunk out of my space) but I feel like its time to throw in the bucket and follow what Microsoft is telling people and other computer brands to do. Revert and wait till october. I have college starting in less than a week and I really dont have the time and patience to wait this out. I cant be in class raging about how **bleep**1ng stupid microsoft 10 is and how i just wish i bought an Asus instead of this piece of sh1t HP!

Up until last night, I'd only been having problems with the whole sleep/shutdown thing, and no issues with my wi-fi. But then last night I was watching Netflix and paused it to go chat with a visitor for an hour or so, and my laptop automatically downloaded some updates while I was away and then when I got back my wi-fi wasn't working. I haven't turned my laptop on yet today (as I generally only use it in the evenings and weekends), but if my wi-fi is still broken I'm going to lose my freaking mind.

Ok, so 80 pages of mad customers and HP has STILL not said anything, honestly I'm so done. Anyways, for some strange reason now my computer wants to sleep, like now it sleeps and to my knowlodge no updates have been made, I'm not going to try shutting down my computer to see if it works because if I decides to wake up from sleep then I can wait out till there is an update by sleeping my computer. I will let you guys know if anything changes!
