Thanks DanG82.

BIOS update seems to be working fine. My laptop is HP Pavilion 15 notebook. I downloaded BIOS drivers for Windows 8.1 and updated. Sleep is working fine now.

Thank you

Glad to hear it! Hopefully that fix is permanent for your model. Doesn't appear to be for mine unfortunately.

Glad I could help with the BIOs...Dan did you look under Windows 8.1? That's where the HP Technician got mine and it seems to be working fine. If you can't find it, then maybe they are coming out with one, sorry this solution isn't working for you. 😧

*UPDATE* Over the last few hours after I got the BIOs update I was checking in to see if it was still working RIGHT after I posted this I checked in, didn't work...sorry if you did the BIOs update thinking it was a perm fix cause its not, I guess we will have to keep going through with this until HP/Microsoft figure out what the hell is wrong, good news is, is that hard shutting down your laptop can maybe corupt an application, it cannot do any OS issues which is a good thing.

I talked to an HP support earlier he took over my computer and said I had hybrid sleep on lol. It clearly said that it was off and also had changed the performance to 100%. I stated that others have also done that and it wasn't a guaranteed fix but he told me since it had went into sleep for this one time that it was intermittenly and will call me at 10:00 am to see if its working

Unfortunatly I upgraded my bios from F.36 to F.42 (the last version of Bios for my laptop model which issued by HP Jul,30,205).  Sleep mode is still not working . i don't think there is any relationship between Sleep mode and upgrading the bios. Sleep mode is totally controlled by Windows and upgrading the bios will not make any sense.

I just checked support for ProBook 470 G1 again, HP removed all graphic drivers for Win7, 8 and 8.1... I would like to know if we are getting fix for this. BTW i tried removing touchpad driver and enabling sleep this morning, same problem.

So from any of the conversations going through HP support has anyone gathered if they are working on a fix for all especially as many of us simply do not have the wherewithal to undertake many of the suggestions on here?

Are each of us expected to individually ring them up as that will take forever for all HP laptops to get fixed.

It would be nice if someone from HP would respond to this thread

The same problem reappeared again. Sleep mode worked only once after upgrading BIOS. It is not working now. Very strange.

After reviewing this thread from the beginig withh all the comments there is unfortunatly no optimal solution for this problem

It is sad that prestigous companies such as  Windows/HP/Intel still havent issued any message or something like that stating that they are working on the issue.  I know solutions are not that easy to make but they can atleast issue a message and let us know that they acknowledge that there is a problem and they are working on it
