I have just got a HP Pavillion Laptop and it has 2 (two) SS USB Ports on the left hand side and a normal USB drive on the right.
I have read that the ss ports work quicker however I can't fit any USB cords in them... Do they take a difrferent kind of USB cord or is it just me not being able to figure this out.
It's difficult as i'm trying to negotiate all my devices around one port at the moment...
Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Hi,
Does the cord fit USB port on other side ? They are difference BUT physically they will fit. You can use USB 2.0 cord/cable on USB 3.0 port (it fits perfectly) but you can only get USB 2.0 speed.
Regards.

Hi BH
Thanks for replying... I actually fit a normal USB stick in the ports :smileyembarrassed: it was just me... I've had the laptop 3 weeks and since I asked the question on here, I've discovered it accepts USB 2.0 stuff...
The speed thing I wasn't aware of though lol.
Thanks again BH
Jen
