So as I said in the subject, the screen flickers and I see green and pink vertical lines as well as the screen 'jumps'.

I have sent in my laptop 3 times(!) for HP to fix. Evertime my laptop comes back, it works fine for a few days and then the problem starts all over again. I'm getting EXTREMELY frustrated as I use this laptop for my job (it is 50% of my work) and this is screwing with my income now as I cannot do what needs to be done for work when the screen keeps doing this. I've tried every solution I have come across to no avail. I am also without warranty now and am pissed that this keeps happening!!!:smileymad:

If anyone can help, that would be great.

Hi Nytehawk666,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your  HP Notebook and getting multi-colored vertical line. Here is a document on troubleshoot monitor and video card problems from Microsoft.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Thanks for trying to help but this is what I get when I run that program...

Video card doesn't support required display settings Not fixed

Your video card doesn't support DirectX 9.0 or higher, Pixel Shader Model 2.0 or higher, or doesn't have sufficient memory or memory bandwidth required to display Aero effects such as transparency.

Yet I can set transparency and change between themes and all that...

Any other way to fix this???

I am using the same version of Windows 7 that HP put on this laptop and I havent changed any parts so everything is original.

And this video link shows what happens every **bleep** time: http://1drv.ms/1fb7t4C

Hi Nytehawk666,

Here is a Windows 7 version of troubleshooter.

Try checking this first, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again. Then try running the fix.
If you go into the device manager and click on your graphics adapter can you update the driver. Here is a link to install the HP Support Assistant if needed. The HP Support Assistant will help keep software and drivers up to date. You might need to updating the BIOS.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I have tried all those options and unfortunately am still having these issues. I have a feeling it may be a cord issue and if it keeps going I will be tearing the laptop open to see if I can fix it cuz I'm seriously annoyed with this problem. It hasnt stopped.
