Pavilion 15 - au003tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I purchased this Hp laptop au003tx 2 days back specs are i5 6th gen, Ram ddr4 8Gb, harddisk 1TB, Nvidia 2GB and its very slow my hard disk usage is always full and i have tried everything... Windows does not have fast boot option my boot time is 1min and 24 seconds where as it should be 30 seconds I installed HP support assistant upgraded every driver still performance is unsatisfactory my old laptop dell i5 3rd gen, 4gb ram and 320hard works absolutely fantastic i wanted to upgrade but this laptop is like a downgrade. I did run cmd command net.exe stop superfetch and net.exe stop "Windows Search" going to msconfig using 4 cores on start up, hiding microsoft services and disabling start up items. Everything seems to go on not responding. I have called the vendor he agreed to replace my 1TB hard disk with 256SSD tomorrow. If this does not work, im selling this crappy laptop.

Hello @Danial007

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

I am sorry about your issues. The laptop isn't crappy (as per your words). The specs are top notch. Probably the HDD may be the slowest part of it and SSD will definitely improve everything but still it should not be that slow. The problem seems to be software related - Microsoft to blame here 🙂  Probably Windows doing some updates or McAfee the antivirus...

Have you completed ALL of the Windows updates ?

I strongly recommed you uninstall McAfee (if you still haven't done so).

1. Uninstall McAfee products from Control Panel > Programs and features

2. Restart the PC

3. Download and run the McAfee consumer product removal tool MCPR to complete the uninstallation and remove leftovers

4. When ready with step 3, restart again

Do you see any different ?

Can you give me some log file to see what is on your PC now:

Download Autoruns (from Microsoft) from this URL => http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

Information about the product => http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

- Save the file on your Desktop

- Run Microsoft Autoruns  with Administrator rights (right click -> Run as Administrator).

Agree with the standard license agreement from Microsoft.

- Once Autoruns is started, it will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

  • Click on Options

Make sure that only the following are selected:

  • Hide Empty Locations
  • Hide Windows Entries

- Click on  Rescan button  or  click on File -> Refresh to rescan the system.

It will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

- Finally, click on File -> Save

Save the snapshot on the desktop in .TXT file

Open the newly created TXT log file.

Mark and Select all of the text (e.g. CTR+A), copy it and

visit http://pastebin.com/  to paste it there

Create new paste and give me the URL to see the log file.

Looking forward to your reply.
