hi! i just got this computer a week ago and its been giving me a few problems. i downloaded browser and it had to restart about six times, showing a screen saying "your pc has a error and need to restart". i deleted the browser eventually, thinking that this was the problem. now my trackpad is giving troublu or it may be the operating system; everytime i want to click something in the start screen, it doesnt open. recencently, i opened my laptop and it was lagging so i rebooted it and realized that the 2 apps i downloaded plus microsoft edge was missing from my app list and all my saved documents and pinned start tiles were gone. i dont know what this is, and i was told that it could be anupdate of some sort but i dont know. i need help.

Since this is very new laptop and you already started having issues, I would suggest you do complete factory reset by tapping f11 key as soon as you power on laptop. This would erase whole hard drive and reinstall factory operating system and configuration.

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
You paid for free HP Tech Support as part of the warranty coverage, so you might as well make use of it.
While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely. This way, if the problem is hardware and is not fixable, you should be able to get their help in replacing the new PC.
If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!
If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836
Good Luck
