Spectre X360 15 spacebar not working

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Brand new Spectre X360 15 inch laptop and the spacebar doesn't work unless I press in the exact center of the bar.  Tapping either end with my thumbs will not enter a space in the text.

 

I've read other posts about this being an issue with the 15 inch model of the Spectre X360.  I paid too damned much money for this laptop to have a major issue like this.

 

How do I get this fixed?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. 

 

They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. 

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. 

 

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

I Have the same problem and am going to return my device to the seller, HP this is really disappointing, good QC would make you avoid this.

I purchased my wife a beautiful HP Spectre 360 - 15 inch between two and three years ago.  I thought this spacebar flaw was a one off and she has been tolerating the typing annoyance for all this time.  I figured it was a physical problem that no one could fix.  I should have returned it.  Now I find out it's a flaw in the product. What a waste. 

 

We have finally tired of a flaw and annoyance that should never have happened and we are tossing the laptop and replacing it as soon as we get back to Atlanta.  I can guarantee that it will not be replaced with an HP.
