Man, I am feeling happy because there is another person feeling same as me but also feeling sad that my second Spectre x360 is not the one as well as the first one..

I bought customized one when it just came out to the market. I liked much storage but wanted to save battery so i5 with 512gb and FHD screen. I loved it but it came a tiny sharpy noise so probably I return this and buy i7 with FHD.

I was successfully making a order with one of sales representative, however, next day my order was cancelled with NO reason. I have called 10 times and even escalated to tons of supervisors what they said to me was 'security reason' so they cannot tell me why.

I am pretty sure it is because I have a history of return which was customized that taking much cost to build so they put my account as blacklist.

Anyway, Intel Graphic Driver also has an issue with igfxEX which takes high CPU usage occasionally (pretty well-known) but still no lastest driver on HP.

Do you think that graphic whitebalance setting will be helpful? I really feel hard to find this much like laptop anymore..

HP, isn't is too much ask you just to be okay?

The first thing I tried was Windows color adjustment. It worked, but the settings applied a few seconds after boot on every boot. It was slightly annoying, so that when I went with Intel's adjustments.

In the end, I'm glad I tried different laptops. I miss the 2 in 1 features, but it's not worth the HP hassle.

Thanks for the info. Appreciated.

I should consider more about this decision. Screen Brightness also could be an issue it seems. Well, I am trying not to be picky much tho.

Hoping you will find the one, and please let me know 😉

@phynal and @blacksage, have you guys managed to solve the problem of the yellow tint on screen? I am having same problem too with my HP spectre x360 windows 10.

Dear HP,

With respect to the problem of yellow tint on hp spectre x360, I am informed by HP service center that this problem exists for any HP model using windows 10. Any solution for that?

@YSYSNG I could not get anyone at support to look at the issue, and in the end I returned my Spectre.

I found out later that the panel just shows colors "warm", it is normal for this screen to tend towards yellows. It can be adjusted in the Intel Color Calibration.

What bugs me the most is that support refused to listen to me. They kept insisting on screenshots, and would not listen when I tried to explain that it was a hardware issue and therefore screenshots would not show it. They also insisted I send it in for repairs, though I found out later that there was nothing to repair. They could have solved this for me in three minutes by just looking at a Spectre screen, but they instead argued with me for weeks.

I am now replying to you on my MS Surface Book and couldn't be happier.

Good luck.

I've got 4193dx i7 with QHD screen 5 days ago. Now I found this thread when already arranged replacement for my laptop due to color issue. Doesn't matter is it yellowish or grayish for me on some pictures but the truth is that white is not white on the screen and it feels so bad. Especially it's visible in comparing with any current home laptop or smartphone screen with white pictures.

Windows color calibration/adjustment or Intel driver color calibration doesn't resolve the issue. It just changes a little bit color temperature but white is not becoming a white.

Finding now the same problem for you guys gives me almost no hope to see proper white on replacement which I have to wait another 2 weeks after sending my current and receiving a new one. I like laptop so much but screen color calibration or matrix quality spoils everything.

I replaced the screen but it doesn't help. And I have been told this is the default colour temperature of windows 10 for HP spectre x360. The technician said windows 8 doesn't have this problem and suggested me to downgrade to Windows 8, but I haven't done this and I am awaiting the technician to double confirm the windows 8 doesn't have this issue before I downgrade (I have requested they show me a same unit with windows 8). Can someone from HP support confirms this before I do the downgrade?

Also, I feel bad because my laptop doesn't work in tablet mode anymore after it came back from the service center.

I am so sorry that so many have this issue. I loved my Spectre, but I am happy I returned it months ago.

To help those here, I will give one final note. (Please consider I have been a computer technician for 36 years):

These screens simply do not show color properly. They are of a cheaper quality than other laptops.

This has nothing to do with Windows 10. I have 3 other Windows 10 machines, none of them have this issue.

HP cannot "fix" this, as there is nothing to fix. Sending in the laptop will just result in frustration.

HP techs do not know enough to tell you any of this.

Return your system if you can. If you can't, sell it. Buy even an older model of another system. It will work better. I will never buy HP again.

NOTE: I have had my new laptop for almost 2 months. The colors are excellent and every day it is a joy to use. I could not be happier. If is a Microsoft Surface, running Windows 10.

@phynal, may I know what was the reason you used to ask for refund?

I asked to change me a whole new set but the technician said he can't do that as he claimed it is not a hardware issue (after he changed for me the new display and the problem still exists). Since they couldnt even change for me a whole new set, I dun think they will agree on the refund?

Btw, why there is no member from @hp support team replying to this thread? We deserve some explanation.
