Why is there no driver available for my operating system?

HP strives to provide driver options for most operating systems, but it is not always possible. The type of driver option available for your computer depends on a number of factors. Generally, HP computers older than seven years are unlikely to be supported on the newest operating systems. (From http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03791820 )

Any update here ???!!!

Hi Francesko,

I understand you are having an issue with the drivers from AMD not working.

If you follow this link and click on scan your system for out-of-date and missing drivers and software.

You could also try to download and run the Hp Support Assistant.

Hey Francesko,

The specs on your product shows that this is not a switchable Graphics card it is dedicated.

Video Graphics

AMD Radeon HD 6470M (512 MB DDR3 dedicated)

And how to get it work ?!

My laptop has an Intel 3000HD Graphics & AMD RADEON HD 6470M.

BIOS does not have an option to set fixed mode for graphic card!!!

On official driver description it says:

"For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. " (Link)

Why HP add an switchtable driver when my laptop hasn't a switchtable graphic??!!

Pavilion G6 1130SL has a switchtable graphic (Intel HD 3000 & AMD RADEON HD 6470M)! On windows 7 (OEM) switchtable graphics works. 🙂

// Olso, i have tried the method: Remove Intel Driver, than Remove AMD products and drivers, Reboot, Try to install driver from hp, Not Working.

Sorry for bad english. Thanks!

Finally i got my RADEON HD 6470M WORKING!! Installed latest mobility beta driver from AMD Site and it works like a charm for windows 8.1 pro 64bit. Now i can open all OpenGL apps, switching graphics works like a charm everything looks good.

Thanks to AMD for that driver that HP simply doesn't care!

amd_catalyst_13.11_mobility_betav9.4.exe (only for Radeon HD6xxxM Series.)
