Hi,

 

Here is one thing to check.

 

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run Box type control panel and hit enter.  Open 'Tasbar and Start menu' and remove the tick from the box next to Auto-hide the Taskbar.  Click Apply and then Ok to save this setting.

my HP G62 Notebook PC just started with the Start Menu button only, taskbar is "invisible". The link you posted showed how I can restart explorer.exe w/o restarting computer - THANKS a bizillion
