Pavilion dv7-6C95DX

Hello All,

I have this laptop for few yrs now, I have tried to find out a resolution to this issue without success for really long time. I think now I am getting out of patience and need some ones help with this.

Problem is touch pads left button would work as right click and bring up the context menu.

I have gone into Control Panel>Mouse and played around with the settings.

I saw a setting there where I had option to select [Right-handed] or [Left-handed] Whatever I do, it always remains as left handed and right click stays as if it is a left handed setting.

I have updated the drive. Currently installed

Driver Version : 17.0.19.0

Driver Date : 17/10/2013

Issue is this behavior is not consistent, randomly it decides to work as intended (left click would be left click and right click would popup context/properties menu) and other times it bombs miserable its extremely annoying to suffer this when I have to work on laptop for extended period of hours as it just keeps on happening. Can some one pls help?

Thanks in advance for taking time to read this

Hi there ,

let try some troubleshooting steps

try this link :

Hi Thanks for a reply, however I have done this as I mentioned in the original post, the related portion of the troubleshooting guide to my issue is

http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5229455&docId=emr_na-c03523373#N101D7

And I have had it setup up many times, but as I said, this starts to fail randomly. Every time I reset it holds/works for a random number of minutes/hours and then goes back to as if I am left handed person and left click would bring up context menu and properties menu

Hi there:

A suggestion -

Do a hard reset first.

Power on laptop with AC power alone , removing battery.

Then try reloading BIOS to default settings

Save, exit, continue loading Windows.

Shut down.
Insert battery, power on with both plugged.

Check.

Regards

Visruth
