HP ENVY m6-1350sf Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the HP Envy m6-1350sf.  The TrueVision HD webcam that is built in has ceased functioning.  I have updated the BIOS to F-36, updated YouCam to version 7 (I can see the virtual driver listed in Device Manager).  I have checked bios settings.  I know the cam worked a while back when on Win8.1, but I did notice issues with software such as Google hangouts where the video would freeze.  It stopped working prior to upgrading to Windows 10.  The upgrade did not seemingly help matters.

I did manage to "somehow" get the cam to work when testing out some live streaming software (Opensource Broadcast Software).  After testing the software, the camera stopped working again.

Inside of Device Manager, Image Devices is NOT listed, and thusly TrueVision HD is not to be seen.  The only thing I can find is under "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers" where the Cyberlink Webcam Virtual Driver ver. 7 is listed.  Even with YouCam 5 installed prior to the update, the original driver was shown with the same situation still present.

When I click the "Show/Hide Action Pane", then select "More Actions" to bring up the hidden items, Image Devices is still NOT listed.  I did see it about 2 hours prior to this posting, but I attempted to uninstall it, then reinstall it via find devices.  It can not find it.

However, there is a listing for "Unknown USB Device (Device Descripter Request Failed).  I have uninstalled/reboot/re-installed it numerous times with various procedures of installing and uninstalling various programs.  I am virus and malware free.  I have run scans to ensure this.

I am at the point that I have done all I can do, and am afraid that all that is left is I purchase an external webcam.

I do wish to add that I have popped off the bezzel (SCARY!!!!  Did not damage anything) to check if the cam was seated.  The cam does NOT match up with anything i could find on Youtube.  This is a new design from what I can tell.  With that in mind, I have a firm feeling that the cam is dead.  Thanks HP for proving why I should have never bought an HP.  Hardware that barely lasts two and a half years.
