HP Pavilion 15 Laptop cs0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Two things, first and foremost, I have looked up and already knew how to turn off the touchpad, however the option is not there on this laptop. I always have an issue with HP doing crap like this in my other laptop. So how do I fix that? Second, how can I get my function buttons to work normal and press fn and the button to use the default buttons as secondary functions.?

Hey there! @AlThePal78,

Try double tapping on the top left of the trackpad this should disable the touchpad. Just double tap at the same place to enable the touchpad.

Try the steps recommended below.

1.In the search box type mouse in the search field.

2.Select Mouse from the list of options.

3.Click the Device Settings tab.

4.From the Devices list, select Synaptics LuxPad V7.5, and then click Settings.

5.Double-click Tapping. The Tapping window displays.

6.Uncheck Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad.

7.Click Close, and then click OK.

8.In the Mouse Properties window, click Apply.

If the issue persists uninstall the touchpad drivers from the device manager and update the BIOS and touchpad drivers using HP support assistant.

Also, try the steps recommended below to disable action keys on the PC.

1.    Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2.    Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3.    Go to the system configuration tab.

4.    Select Action keys mode from the list and select Disable.

5.    Press F10 on the keyboard to save changes and exit.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

This answer didn't work for me. When you search for Mouse, Mouse Settings pops up (no option with just Mouse).  Going into that settings screen - with the gear picture - doesn't work. What does work is going to the control panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Touchpad.  But I'm just glad there's a way to do it without having to dig down into a menu each time you want to enable/disable.  I'm disappointed that there's no longer a way to do this with function keys; on my ast laptop I just pressed F11 to turn on/off.
