I want to update my g7-2340dx laptop to the latest bios update to fix the BIOS security vulnerability affecting EDK2 UEFI firmware as mentioned on this bulletin:

HOWEVER, the download link to  SP66880.EXE does NOT work.

 

I contacted HP tech support and they wanted to charge me $59 to give me the download link. Ludicrous!

 

Maybe here I can get help without being taken advantage of.

I recommend you contact HP at the link below and ask them to restore the exe file to their FTP site.

Definitely ludicrous of them to ask for $59.00 for a file that they couldn't provide to you even if they wanted to.
