HP ENVY x360 15-bp106na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The specs for this laptop show:

USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)

Is this safe to use with a USB-C/HDMI cable to a monitor?

I am concerned because on another post Curtis Jackson states for a similar laptop in October 2018,

"I regret to inform you that this laptop's USB-C port is not designed for display output."

Many people including my son use an adapter which is similar to the following one

Thanks. I have seen usbc to hdmi cables on amazon fòr a quarter if cost of the dongle you suggest.

Is there a reason to pay the premium?

Why isnt HP clearee on capabiluties of its usbc ports?
