HP ProBook 4530s
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

After pressing the power on button and using password or fingerprint verification, a black screen appears with the message:

McAfee Endpoint Encryption Fatal Error: [0xEE020006] Getting disk info

The ESC key menu shows no option to start Windows 7 in safe mode

Hi

Firstly boot to safe mode by tapping F8 on startup , Goto Safe mode with networking then once loaded to the link below and install the McAfee KB update for the solution to this issue .

Checkurtech,

thanks for the link, but i have no way to enter safe mode.  i don't have a win 7 rescue cd, and f8 and f5 are not active.  i can use ESC and get to a menu, but my boot options are upgrade tray, hard drive, or network.  i don't have a network for this, and both hard drive and upgrade tray lead to the same error.

Correct.  F8 does not work and neither does F5, which was another suggestion.  If i could only get into safe mode...

Hi

From a working PC download a Repair Disk from the link provided below ...

 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38435

OR you can create a repair disk from another Windows 7 32bit machine that is working correctly .

To create a system repair disc

  1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

  2. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

So last night, these are the steps i took.

- i located the Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit install CD

- i ran multiple unsuccessful repair attempts

- i ran a re-image from an external hard drive, but i did not check the box to completely erase all previous images (i guess i was hopeful that i could somehow get back my current image)

after i copied back an image from 4/21/2015, i am now getting this error:

pePc has been corrupted (error 92h)

I am not sure what my next steps would be.  Is there anyway from the install CD that i can get to a safe boot desktop?  i was thinking that somehow the HP drive encryption/decryption got turned off and maybe i could just turn it back on if i can get to a win 7 desktop.

I was wondering if i were to reinstall win 7 os and then try to copy back my 4/21 image if that would work?

Some people have suggested to download sp71068.exe from HP to a flash drive.  I don't know much about that .exe.  I wonder if i can boot from it?
