Thank you so much for your response to this problem.  I contacted HP and they wanted $100.00 to help me solve this issue.  I searched the interent and always came up empty handed.  Your solution worked perfectly for my HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx Entertainment PC.  Really appreciate it!!!!  I was already in the process of backing up data to completely restore - that would have been a total nightmare!!! Thanks again!
