PROBOOK 4540
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have had an ongoing problem with my HP ProBook. I was once able to join my work domain WIN 2003 Server.

As  I received Microsoft updates I would loose the ability to connect to my work domain. I reinstalled WIN 7 over my exisiting install so as not to loose my programs...that worked. I would loose it again as updates were installed.

This is a problem on both wireless and wired adapters.  No firewall, antivirus. Checked network share settings all ok.

Tried in safe mode to join domain..no luck.

I have followed all the advice on how to join a network with win 7. I can't join my domain.  Network ID does not work.

I just added two non HP desktops to the domain, no problems.

Is there any known harware issue? Does HP have any security running in the back ground?

The Domain is a Networlk LAN running on WIN 2003 Server SP2. The computer has a valid account on the Server. PC is running WIN 7 Pro.

My pc name is **bleep**-PC, I am a member of WORKGROUP.  I can not join the Domain by changing Domain or using Network ID and wizard.  I have a log in account on the server. I can ping the server IP address. I can't map a network drive with my valid domain credentials. I can connect to the Server using Remote Desk Top.

WIFI is through ATT Uverse Router. WIFI in laptop is standard HP for that model. I can not connect with the wired NIC either. I have internet access on the PC. Network is shown as a WORK network in Network & Sharing Center

As mentioned before, I have added another PC to server just a few days ago. No problems I duplicate the setting in the newly added PC ...still no connection to network

Thanks for your help
