Hi,

My question is,

If I uninstall all the HP preinstalled games on my dv7 laptop will it also uninstall the Microsoft games too.

I want to uninstall the HP games because I don't play them very much, and the ones I did play have now got no more free plays left.

I have looked through the program files and the HP games and the Microsoft games seem to be kept in seperate folders.

I want to keep the Microsoft games though.

Windows 7 x64

Regards, Chris.

This is marked as Solved. Am I permitted to jump in?

I want to do the same thing as the questioner (I think), but I would like clarification of the phrasing in the question. You refer to "HP preinstalled games". Are those the games under right hand side of Start with Documents, Pictures, Computer, etc.? Are the Microsoft games the ones on the left side of Start under All Programs? If so, did you uninstall the HP preinstalled games by uninstalling HP Games in Uninstall? If so, it did not disturb the games listed under All Programs?

I didn't know the definition of the two sets of games---HP preinstalled vs. Microsoft.

Uninstalling HP Games, which are developed by Wild Tangent, in "Programs and Features" will not affect the Windows Microsoft games in "All Programs"

Keep in mind that those games, ounce uninstalled, can not be retrieved unless you do a full system restore.

You can though, go to Wild Tangent.com and install the trials from there, and that is what they are on an HP laptop,  just trials.

Thanks!! Exactly what I was looking for and your answer was very clear. I will uninstall with confidence.

I was tempted to click more Kudos, but then thought it would not be allowed.

I have unsuccessfully tried to delete HP games from my C drive. I get error messages and I am hung up as I cannot use any games on this XP without message saying, EXCEPTION-EXECUTE-HANDLER. any games from another game site cannot be played because this message blocks them. I have contacted Wild Tangent but there is no way that they can help me. There is another game that comes up at this time that too cannot be deleted, Midnight Mysteries- Salem Witch Trial, I think that this game is causing a problem in the HP game manager, please help if you can,

Thank you
