Hi
Could someone please help me locate the driver for the following unknown device on a HP ProBook 430 G3? It's listed as a Multimedia Audio Controller.
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D70&SUBSYS_80FF103C&REV_21
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D70&SUBSYS_80FF103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D70&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D70&CC_0401
Thanks
Phil

Hi, Phil:
It is part of the Conexant HD audio system.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72909.html
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72909.exe
If the above driver does not automatically install that device, go to the device manager, and click on the multimedia audio controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp72909. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install. Then reboot the PC.
The driver setup information file for the hardware ID you posted is included within the driver package.

I've been in touch with HP Support since and it wasn't a driver issue itself.
I had to take the following steps to get it to work:
* Start the BIOS and disable Intel Smart Sound. Save and Exit
* Open Device Manager and uninstall the Unknown device.
* Scan for Hardware changes and then update the driver
All working now.
Thanks

disable Intel Smart Audio in the BIOS
download drivers here and install them
open device manager and uninstall the unknown device.
scan for hardware changes and all is OK.
