Hi all,

First: I bought new hp pavilion g6 2228 se with 6GB RAM (1x2GB - 1x4GB), I want to upgrade ram to be 12GB by remove the 2GB and replace it with 8GB (1x8GB - 1x4GB) .

Second: if it is possible to upgrade the RAM is this action invalidate my warranty?

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

HP states  in the published specifications that the systemboard will support 8GB.  Upgrading memory will not invalidate your warranty.

I certainly cannot respond to what someone told you. I don't work for HP nor for whomever sold it to you. Ask them  where they got their information from.

I can and did provide you with a link to the published specifications. That is what HP supports. HP manufactured and designed the notebook. Whomever told you otherwise did not.  Logic would dictate that you are better off believing what HP says over what someone trying to sell a product has stated without reference or proof.

16 GB may work and then again it might not since it is not a supported memory confioguration.

Best regards,

erico

Hello TheNadazza.

I'll look this information up if you provide me with the notebook's product number.  This document can show you where it is located.

Have a good day!
