You could replace your current hard drive with a Solid State Drive. These are generally quite a bit faster than normal (spinning, platter-based) hard drives. However, they have a shorter life-cycle, are of a smaller capacity, and cost much more.
If you decided to try upgrading your hard drive you'd want to make sure to create a set of Recovery Media. This allows you to reinstall the operating system onto the new hard drive. This document has instructions for the process.
