I want to upgrade my wireless card, currently Intel Centrino N-1000, to one with bluetooth. I have seen a lot of people do this and replace it with a Intel Advanced-N 6230 on different computers but i'm also aware of the fact that this can cause some issues with my BIOS. If someone can tell me if this will work with my computer
I have a HP Pavilion DV6T-6B00 Quad Edition CTO Entertainment notebook PC with
Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
8 GB ram/memory
Intel Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon 6770M
Running Windows 7 Professional although i do like to mess with dualboots and other operating system some times
I am open to suggestions of any other wireless cards as well that have a built in bluetooth because i hate external bluetooth dongles.
I have (obviously the HP modified version of) Insyde H20 Bios F.1C
I was not able to find the reqired information on HP's website for the life of me!
If someone could help me out, I would be really thankful!
Thank You
- Nick 😄

Do you by any chance know which card will work?
I don't think any dual band (5Ghz) wifi card will work. The best option for you is Intel 1030. It's the same chip as the 1000 but combo with bluetooth. Part number: 631956-001. This part number is listed in the manual as Intel 6230.

Hi,
I'm sorry but the Intel 6230 won't probably work on your laptop. It's listed in the manual but the part number belongs to a different card. Sorry.
