HP Envy 15-K204NA
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi.

I hope someone out there can help me!!

I have tried numerous times to upgrade my HP Envy 15-K204NA from Windows 8.1 64-bit to Windows 10 Home, but it continues to fail with error code 80070714.

I am using Bullguard Premium Protection and have Acronis True Image installed.

I have disabled SQL services as suggested by other posts on the internet, but nothing seems to work.

When I run the upgrade from a DVD burned from the ISO, it gets to 37% and then fails.

Hope you can help. (fingers crossed!!)

Chris

I have given up now, and have rebuilt my laptop using the recovery partition.  The upgrade to Windows 10 came up straight away, and it has installed fine.

Hooray 🙂

Uninstall any security software you have installed and try again.

Hi Mumbodog  and thanks for your reply.

I have uninstalled Bullguard and tried the upgrade again, but it failed at the same point.

I have also removed Acronis True Image and again it failed!!

The log file has fewer lines now, so it has helped, but still no upgrade:
