Hey everyone,
I have a HP DV6-3203TU laptop purchased from my local Harvey Norman store 2 years ago in Sydney.
I wanted to add another 4gb RAM to it since it has 1 slot free.
My sister also has the same laptop so i took her 4gb RAM out and put it into my laptop to make it 8gb RAM ... however it didn't change. The System settings still says 4gb. I also checked the BIOS and it still says 4gb RAM.
I am putting it in the right way since it only goes in one way and i hear the click everytime i do it.
Further details of the laptop are:
Laptop: HP DV6-3203TU
Product number: LG225PA#ABG
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System
RAM: 4gb
Is there settings i need to change for the new RAM to work or can this laptop only have 4gb RAM in it??
Also i put my 4gb RAM into her laptop to rule out if my laptop was faulty but it also doesn't work in her laptop.
Thanks for any help.

Hi
In your Window's Properties window then you need to change something in the BIOS or in the msconfig "Boot" tab under advanced options.
Make sure that 'Maximum Memory' is NOT checked under MSConfig.
The quick way to get to the Window's Properties window is to press
Windows Key + Pause|Break
Reseat the Memory stick from the back panel then update the Bios from the HP website.
