Update 3:

The HP support agreed that the DDR3 RAM was a bad advice. But..they have no other clue what to do. Strange....

Well they did give the advice to ask @ Crucial..so I did.Just ended my live chat with a Crucial Expert..and they don't know either. They did come up with the same DDR2 memory that I've found in their configurator...but they can't explain or ensure that it will work on my HP mini. Solution: I have to phone a UK or USA number from Crucial and ask the same question, maybe they know.

Upgrading your HP Mini 210 -> An epic quest!

Thanks for your tip. I'm going to try it right away. I just really really hope that it doesn't work. Because...I've just sold both the 2GB RAM Modules (A-data & Geil) on Ebay....

Your solution works like a charm. In 2minutes I have my 2GB up and running.

The down side: I've sold the 2GB modules because they didn't work and the HP desk didn't know any solutions

+ HP support didn't know about this bios upgrade. Nice knowledge....not

You can order the 2 GB memory module for the HP Mini 210 that works online at “Crucial”:  http://www.crucial.com/eu/search/searchresults.aspx?keywords=ct1440459%20

(When clicking the link doesn’t work, put the link manually into the address bar of your browser.)
It is also important to update the BIOS before installing the module. The BIOS ensures that the hardware connected to the motherboard is correctly identified and controlled.

You can download and install the BIOS update (file sp51200.exe) using the next page link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89642-1&lc=nl&dlc=nl&cc=nl&...

(When clicking the link doesn’t work, put the link manually into the address bar of your browser.)
On this site you’ll see a “Download” button. Click on it. Choose “Save” and choose a place where you want to save the file eg your desktop. Choose “Save” again. After the download go to where you’ve saved the file, and click twice on the file. Follow the steps on the screen to install this update.

So I have a Mini 210-1032 that I purchased at Costco about a year ago.  I just updated the RAM from 1gb to 2gb.

I purchased mine from MicroCenter.  Got the Crucial 2gb ddr2-800 sodimm 200 pin.  MicroCenter's SKU number is 999862.  Cost was 34.99

Installed it and the computer fired right up.  Seems to run alot quicker but wont know more until I am running multiple programs over the next few days.

The netbook I got was a pre built one that only Costco sold.

Good luck to everyone that has been having issues.

Hello, I have HPmini 210-2010sm and I want to upgrade my 1GB ddr3 to 2GB ddr3, so I bought the same RAM just with more RAM (2GB), I mean identical specifications that the previous RAM has except the new has now 2GB RAM...

My problem is black screen when restarting netbook with new RAM, and I tried the steps before written (30sec. with non pluged power, 15 sec. with charger, reboot...), and it's not working, there is still black screen on netbook, so please help.

Hi, sorry I can;t send you a link.  I did some research before and had to upgrade from Windows 7 starter OS to Windows Home Premium for my computer to run on the 2G RAM.
